How to add a language to your store

Learn how to add a new language to your store and manage language settings.

Updated this week

Shopable allows you to run your store in multiple languages simultaneously. You can add languages that will be available to your store visitors and then manage them according to your needs.

How to add a new language

Go to the Settings section, then select Languages. You'll see a list of available languages that you can add to your store. To add a language, click the three dots icon next to its name โ€“ a menu with available options will open.

Managing added languages

After clicking the three dots next to a language, you'll see several management options:

Set as default โ€“ allows you to specify which language will be displayed as the main one in your store. This is the language users will see on their first visit.

Activate in store โ€“ enables the language so customers can select it while browsing your store. If a language is inactive, it won't be visible to visitors.

Remove language โ€“ allows you to completely remove the language from the list of available options.

In the Active and Default columns, you can see the current status of each language. You can quickly check which languages are enabled and which one is set as default for your store.
