How to configure shipping methods

Learn how to set up available shipping methods in your store, including InPost, digital delivery, and custom shipping options.

Updated this week

Shipping methods allow your customers to choose their preferred delivery method when completing their order. In Shopable, you can configure several types of shipping: InPost parcel lockers, digital delivery, and custom shipping methods such as DPD courier or in-person pickup.

Once you've configured your shipping methods, they will be displayed in the checkout form. Keep in mind that after an order is placed, you need to manually ship the package with your chosen carrier โ€“ Shopable does not handle automatic integration with courier companies.

Accessing shipping method settings

Go to the Settings section in the side menu, then select the Shipping methods tab. You'll see a list of available delivery options and the ability to add your own methods.

Configuring InPost parcel lockers

InPost is one of the predefined shipping methods in Shopable. To activate it:

  1. In the Configured delivery methods section, find the InPost entry with the "Inactive" label.

  2. Click the Configure button next to this method.

  3. Enable the Activate InPost shipping method toggle at the top of the form.

  4. In the Shipping method name field, you can keep the default name or enter your own, e.g., "InPost Parcel Lockers".

  5. Set the Delivery price โ€“ enter the cost you want to charge customers for this method.

  6. If you want shipping to be free for purchases above a certain amount, enable the Free delivery from amount option and enter the threshold amount.

  7. In the Expected delivery time field, specify the time in days, e.g., "2".

  8. Click Save changes.

Remember: After enabling this method, customers will be able to select an InPost pickup point in the checkout form. However, after an order is placed, you need to manually ship the package to the parcel locker according to the pickup point chosen by the customer.

After saving, the InPost method will change its status to "Active" and will be visible in your store's checkout.

Configuring digital delivery

Digital delivery is intended for products you deliver electronically (e.g., e-books, online courses, downloadable files). To configure it:

  1. Find the Digital Delivery entry with the "Active" label in the delivery methods section.

  2. Click Configure.

  3. Make sure the Activate digital shipping method toggle is enabled.

  4. In the Shipping method name field, enter the name that will be displayed to customers, e.g., "Digital delivery".

  5. Click Save changes.

Note: Activating this method makes it appear in the cart during checkout. By default, the shipping cost is 0.00 PLN. After an order is placed, you need to manually send the digital material to the customer (e.g., via the email address provided in the order).

Adding custom shipping methods

If you want to offer other forms of delivery, such as DPD courier, in-person pickup, or courier shipment, you can create your own shipping method.

  1. In the Custom shipping methods section, click the Create custom shipping method button.

  2. In the Shipping method name field, enter the name that will be displayed to customers, e.g., "Courier".

  3. Set the Delivery price โ€“ if you enter "0", the method will be displayed as free.

  4. You can enable the Free delivery from amount option to offer free shipping on higher-value orders.

  5. In the Expected delivery time field, specify the time in days.

  6. Click Save changes.

Information: This shipping method does not support parcel locker deliveries or automatic integration with carriers. After receiving an order, manually ship the package with your chosen carrier.

The created method will appear in the Custom shipping methods table and will be available to customers at checkout.

Managing shipping methods

You can edit or delete created methods at any time. To do this:

  • Click the ... icon (three dots) next to the selected method in the table.

  • Choose the edit option to change parameters, or delete the method if it's no longer needed.

Once you've configured your shipping methods, customers will be able to select their preferred delivery option when placing an order. This allows you to tailor your offering to different preferences and provide a better shopping experience.
