In Shopable, you can connect Google Analytics without manually inserting tracking codes – you only need to fill in a single field with your GA4 property ID. This lets you start measuring traffic, traffic sources, and customer behaviour in your store.
Prerequisites
To connect Google Analytics to Shopable, you need a Google account and a Google Analytics 4 property for your website (store). The measurement ID uses the format “G-XXXXXXXXXX”.
If you do not yet have a GA4 property for your store, create it first in the Google Analytics panel and then return to this article.
Step 1: Go to the Analytics section in Shopable
Log in to your Shopable admin panel.
In the side menu, go to “Settings”, then open the “Analytics” tab.
In the list of available plugins, find “Google Analytics” and switch the toggle to turn it on.
After enabling it, you will see a field where you need to paste your Google Analytics Measurement ID.
Step 2: Find the Measurement ID in Google Analytics (GA4)
The identifier you need is the Measurement ID assigned to the data stream of your website. It uses the format “G-XXXXXXXXXX”.
To find it:
Log in to Google Analytics and select the GA4 property for your store.
Click the “Admin” (settings) gear icon in the lower-left corner.
In the “Property” column, choose “Data streams”.
Go to the “Web” section and click the data stream that corresponds to your store’s domain.
On the data stream details screen, you will see the Measurement ID at the top, usually on the right, in the format “G-XXXXXXXXXX”.
Copy this ID – you will need it in the next step.
Step 3: Paste the Google Analytics ID in Shopable
Go back to the Shopable admin panel, to “Settings → Analytics → Google Analytics”.
Paste the copied Measurement ID (for example, G-123ABC4567) into the “Google Analytics ID” field.
Click “Save” to activate the integration.
From this moment, traffic from your store will be sent to Google Analytics. The first data may appear in the GA interface with a delay of a few minutes up to several hours.
Common issues
I don’t see any traffic in Google Analytics
Make sure you pasted the correct Measurement ID in the exact “G-…” format. Also check the “Realtime” report in GA4 and visit your store in another browser tab to see if you appear as an active user.
I have multiple data streams and don’t know which one to use
Verify the URL assigned to each data stream – it should match your store’s domain, for example “https://yourstore.com”. If you have several domains, choose the stream that corresponds to the domain currently used by your Shopable store.
